The COVID-19 pandemic is again bringing uncertainty, following the emergence of the Omicron variant in late 2021. Countries had been opening up and emerging from lockdowns, only to reimpose restrictions and closures.

But one exception is China, with its zero-tolerance approach. Beijing is determined not to let the pandemic affect its hosting of the Winter Olympics. 2022 sees another momentous event – the twice-a-decade party congress, expected to extend President Xi Jinping’s tenure for an unprecedented third term.

Countering China and building alliances in the Indo-Pacific continues to be a major focus for US President Joe Biden. We also examine Washington’s priorities in strengthening ties with its major allies – Japan and South Korea, as they in turn consider their bilateral relationship in the face of new leadership.

Leadership is in the spotlight too in Southeast Asia. The Philippines goes to the polls to elect a successor to President Rodrigo Duterte. In Malaysia, there are expectations that a general election will be called in 2022 to end the current political uncertainties. But for Myanmar, the way ahead remains unclear, a year after the military seized power.

p Both Biden and Xi Jinping and Putin are the wrong leaders in 2022! We need a serious shift in politics and it is about time the new generation start leading themselves in the world they prefer not these old no-hopers preparing for a journey of their own!

p Bidens retreat out of Afghanistan was plain stupidity, it destroyed a chance for Afghans and in particular, women, who are very well educated, to build their country and American soldiers feel the pain of this that all their work loss of life has been totally worthless! Trump and Biden are the most unsuitable characters ever to lead the most powerful country in the world to hold peace!

China grew their export while the rest of the world suffers. The Chinese government must be held accountable to the whole world for they were the source of the pandemic worse was they deliberately kept it secret. UN should make sure this does not escape justice and sanctions China to help the economy of the whole world. Leaders of different countriesshould never be blind that China wants to dominate the whole world.

Very pro-China. GDP increasing? "China doesn't depend on foreign trade"; China dealing with Covid in a responsible way. Really? Are we talking about the same China? The one on an economic precipice according to my information. China where the pandemic began but no invesdtigation will be tolerated & how dare you even think such a thing. You can keep your coal which we depend on! That China? The China committing cultural genocide & militarizing the South China sea? That China CNA? Or the 'China' you speak about & 'inform' Chinese people in the mainland? Lies, untruths & propaganda from your news company, whoever you are. Your relationship to the CCP needs to be fully detailed in the 'about' section of your web-site. Here's a question for you to do some real & impartial reporting on: Should Xi Jinping be indicted in the International court of justice for his 'handling' of the Covid pandemic? After all, he's not only responsible for millions of his own people dying of the virus, his actions have also killed millions of innocents outside of China. Do you think there should be an investigation into the source & handling of the outbreak & into possible genetic manipulation of viruses for a secret biological warfare weapons programme? Your channel just 'bigging up' the murderous, illegitimate regime that is the CCP is not impartial journalism. Your channel should come with a warning as to who & what you are. Put it this way, maybe people should be warned to take what you say with a pinch of sodium chloride.

As Americans who served in Afghanistan who were there to win hearts and minds know what that man was talking about. Biden's puppet masters in big tech, media, the military industrial complex would love a war and its the only way Biden can win at this point. He would have to solve any conflict perfectly. Unfortunately he may get the chance with Ukraine and Taiwan

Biden is still living in 2019 – in his basement, there will be a wipeout for the Dem's, Republicans will take 30-40 seats so say goodby Nancy and Chuck (that is the reason Chuck is pushing to get a National Voting Process in place to pull States Rights away and they can steel elections again) – take AOC and the Squad with you, rest of the "You Owe Me – Cancel US Culture – CRT Crew" all need to go…2024 take the White House, Trump wins again and save our Country, Trump will bring back Energy Independence, reduce regulations and cost for Business, stop any Tax Increases, ensure our Military has strong leaders, not woke leaders – stand up for the US Internationally, move past Covid and open up the country – lets get back to work….Let's go Brandon…..
