Areas of Japan’s southern-central region including Hyogo and Shiga prefectures were hit with record snowfalls on December 27, 2021. The previous day, the nation’s transport system was disrupted by severe weather that grounded more than 100 domestic flights. Japan’s Meteorological Agency has urged people to refrain from non-essential travel as it forecast blizzard conditions would continue in some areas until December 28, 2021.

Some people get it wrong, but the northern part of Japan is number one in the ranking of the top ten cities for snowfall. And it snows so much that it gets half of the top 10.
The high humidity makes it possible to enjoy the silky powdery snow called "japaw".
The distance from north to south of Japan is the same as from Denmark to Morocco.
Surrounded by the sea on all sides and high humidity, it snows a lot in winter due to cold air from Siberia, and the temperature in summer is hotter than in southern countries.

Record rainfall, floods in China. Record snowfall in Japan. Blame Dubai for creating warm wet weather for their dry life style.

Some people envy snowing, but as someone who lives in the northern part of Japan, I don't appreciate snow at all lol
We have to plow for hours every day in -10 ℃, and if there's too much snow on the ground, we can't use cars or trains.

    Hello from northern Scandinavia!
Judging from the machines they are using to move the snow in this video, this area doesn't look like it's used to having much snow.
There is more snow outside my door right now than in the city in the video :p
