To be honest I will try to sum up this by saying : if you eat any living thing then you are eating something that feels pain and have emotions . So no need to preach on anything whatsoever .

Cow are really emotional and smart than other animals. The cow would know if anybody in the home is dead even before the family members know about it. They would cry and make noise, maybe they could see something that we cannot.
(If you are not Indian, ya there are atleast one cows in many homes in rural areas of India)
They are very emotional and they cry like humans and could understand our body language. Thats one of the reason its taboo to kill cows

Can you please name an animal who doesn't cry when hurt? All the animals have emotions, even plants and trees have! It's just that so called activists can only hear few voices, and that too where money is piled hugely!!

Compassion is the key for world happiness. Compassion is a common quality and the question is, if person displays such a high degree of cruelty to animals, can he have any innate compassion for fellow human beings or he restrains hurting fellow guys only out fear on jurisdiction. Some universities should research and publish statistical correlation, how it can be true that a person can be cruel to animals and still be considered humane.
