Transition or a new normal? China's international relations in a time of global uncertainty

Regarding the issue of Ukraine joining NATO, Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov says it will risk “large-scale conflict” in Europe.
During an interview on Friday, Lavrov said the West is pulling Ukraine into NATO, with possible strike missile systems appearing near their borders and this creates “unacceptable security threats” to the Kremlin.
The Russian foreign minister blamed NATO for triggering instability in Eastern Europe where Russian troops are deployed along Ukraine’s borders.
He insisted Russia’s military posture is “defensive” in nature.

it is upto ukraine if they join or not . also ukraine had been supportive of nato . why should other countries dictates terms on other nation ?,
if ukraine wants to join nato,.ukraine is a sovereign state and thereby have the rights to what is good for their country.
does it mean that russia will always hold ukraine hostage as what is happening now?
or are they afraid that the ukrainians will be become stronger and they can no longer bully?
well let alone ukraine join nato if they wishes.,ukraine is of course afraid of stronger russia,so they need allies.but the best is continuos dialogues to avoid a bloody war.

    Imagine –
If Putin woke up and wanted to make Russia the most respected country in the world…
He would chose friendship over his war machine. An open hand instead of a fist.
He would say Ukraine and Russia will be friends, then he would withdraw all the Russian troupes from the border and from inside Ukraine.
He would cede back the Crimea peninsula and pronounce peace is the best way forward. Imagine how powerful Russia would be in the eyes of every intelligent person.
Only a truly powerful man and leader of a country could do that.
All the world would look up to Russia and want to be that strong.
    Imagine.

Now if it was only NATO Russia didn't want Ukraine to join.
Ya see joining the EU would only mean one thing…wealth
…and of course, the first thing you do after attaining wealth is…protect it.
So one way or the other Russia has another unfriendly neighbor.
One thing for sure…rushing into anything might be a big mistake.
But time unfortunately is not on anyone's side…

If Russia had not invaded Ukraine in 2014 and occupied large territories, Ukraine would not want to join NATO! But Russia did! So Ukraine wants to preserve its freedom and independence by joining NATO! The problem was started by Russia! But there is a solution: pull all of Russian troops and collaborators out of Eastern Ukraine and Crimea. Restore the 2014 boundaries. Then Ukraine will have no reason to join NATO! However Putin is mentally ill and the people both of Russia and Ukraine suffer from his blood-soaked tyranny.

If they get approval to join Nato there will be a war. Not if they join NATO. If they join NATO it will be too late. So it will happen before they join.

We have to tell Ukraine what Ukraine has to do. Become neutral again in order to get Crimea back and peace.

Face to Russia: Ukraine does recover Crimea as conter party of the neutrality.

Face to NATO: Neutrality against the back of Crimea. No Membership !

After that Ukraine has to be devoted to economic development with both EU and Russia !

Wtf is this? So what if ukraine joins NATO? What changes for russia other then the economic and military commitments that will like make ukraine safer and more prosperous as a country. Whatever russia is accusing ukraine or nato or US of doing, fact is russia started it. Does ukraine undermine russia, fund proxies or terrorist? Nope..wtf is Putin's problem. Get that kgb ussr fantasies out of your head. Run the country like a real country and stop pissing off the world. 20 plus years in power, and still butting heads with the US and NATO. Look at vietnam! Old communist war adversaries with US and can forgive and move on and prosper. Work well with all developed nations and not start dumb shit. Ideological bullshit masqarading as objective…same as china.

Putin seems to forget that the USSR and the Eastern bloc don't exist anymore.
He can't dictate the policies of these Countries anymore.
And i'm pretty sure that triggers him alot.
ITS THEIR DECISION TO JOIN NATO.
Ukraine has more then enough reasons to join a military alliance with the West.
