Lata Mangeshkar, one of India’s most beloved singers who provided the soundtrack to hundreds of Bollywood films, has died aged 92.
Mangeshkar was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai in January after testing positive for Covid-19.
Her extraordinary career spanned more than half a century and she recorded thousands of songs in 36 languages.
She will receive a state funeral in Mumbai on Sunday which will be followed by two days of national mourning.

RIP Lata from the Caribbean. As a child our family would watch those great Bollywood movies from the 70s and 80s and it was her and Moh’d Rafi’s voices which I loved. 🇹🇹

When COVID-19 hit India, I automatically feared for her.
She had so many memorable songs.
Veer-Zaara was the latest major movie I enjoyed her voice in.
We share the same birthday.
Legend.
I am from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩 and i love her ❤️❤️
No one will live…great loss…may she rest in peace. Ameen.
She is gone but even today, that heavenly voice lingers in our ears.❣️ As a gen Z, I am blessed to be at least born in the era, when this musical empress walked the earth. 👑 👣

When yellow man will be killed?
nightingale (swar kokila) of india, "Lata mangeshkar" navi mumbai's or jewar international airport…
The only thing about this legend was and will be ==== PERFECTION
Its a western hypocrisy that neither hollywood nor grammy award recognized her talent… Like mahtma Gandhi never nominated for noble peace award.. But lata mangeskar voices ruled whole Asia , middle East , Russia, and africa which itself a award for her.
