Postmedia columnist Anthony Furey discusses the politics of the pandemic in Ontario, and the frustrations around feelings of being “back to square one.”

At least the vid title is honest… it's a massive (needless) step backwards, and it's all about the politics, not health.

Love how Trudeau doesn't get any of the blame for this when this is the 3rd variant being the 3rd national security failure on his plate.

    Mr. Ford,

These lockdowns are causing more harm than good for the well-being and mental health of our children.
Something your Government continues to ignore.
Also the split society you have created with discriminatory mandates have caused more harm to Ontario.

You say hospitals are overwhelmed but instead of hiring more staff you have suspended or fired front-line workers who asserted their bodily autonomy, while thousands of others are stuck at home because of isolation protocols.

According to the latest figures, only 123 patients in all of Ontario are now in the ICUs with COVID-19.

This is just unnecessary panic and fearmongering.

This needs to stop. We will not forget these things come the next election.

Canadian politicians need to watch what's happening in Europe, in Bulgaria they tried to storm parliament because they have had enough, do they really believe it can't happen here? This is becoming tyrannical. This is exactly what the Feds want: to use Covid to turn people against the preimers so Trudeau can invoke The Emergency Act.

Drag the politicians out into the street. People are tired of it. Here in the US I will be voting against any politician pushing more Covid restrictions

Here is some data that Canadian news won't share with us. Doug Ford started a label company called Delta Label's many years before the Delta variant was released upon us, Delta Labels grosses 100 million annually. Renata Ford, Rob Ford's widow, launched a $16.25 million lawsuit against Doug and Randy Ford after Rob passed. Delta has a contract to make the Decals that we see on supermarket floors saying "keep 3 meters distance, masks must be worn to enter" etc. in hospitals too. How would Ford know about the Delta Variant a than two years before it hit us and why doesn't he speak up about this company and isn't this a conflict of interest?
