Heavy snow causes journey chaos in Japan.
Snow has pummelled the north and west of Japan, causing travel chaos and warnings to stay indoors.
More than 100 domestic flights in Japan were grounded due to heavy snow in the northern and western parts of the country.

Situation is just NORMAL there in Japan. See it is winds blowing from southeastern China to the northeast or going due east picking up moisture from the Sea of Japan and hits Japan as snowstorms in winter. They get big accumulation snowfall amounts because of that wet heavy snow of an Atmosphere River. This same because of the Jet Stream hits Alaska. A few weeks ago it was forecast of 28 FEET OF SNOW IN JUST THREE DAYS in Alaska's Chugach Mountains. This is basically wilderness and towns except perhaps Native American Indian fishing villages by the ocean. What would your city do with 28 FEET OF SNOW if you live in a city? This Jet Stream over decades brings that Atmosphere River from the northwest over the Gulf of Alaska and aims for British Columbia and western Washington. This same weather river is what is going on in California this month. These weather rivers brought storms one after another in 2018-2019 from Hawaii. People in the Sierra Mountains know this as the "Pineapple Express" for decades. This express" brought 19 FEET OF SNOW to Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort, California south of Lake Tahoe in December, 2018. That ski season started late October, 2018 and finished on August 6, 2019. Last day they were opened, girls skiing in bikinis and some guys in swimming trunks and 80 degrees outside and snow skiing! Snow cats pushed snow with snowplow blades to the chairlifts from higher elevations.
