There will be a shift from an initial cautious containment approach in managing Omicron cases. This comes as authorities know more about the Omicron variant now than they did more than a month ago. Lawrence Wong, co-chair of the COVID-19 multi-ministry task force, said this variant is likely to be more transmissible but less severe than Delta. As such, authorities are adjusting protocols to manage Omicron cases in the same way as they do for Delta ones. Professor Dale Fisher from NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, who is also chair of the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network at WHO, shared his thoughts on this.

Currently the CDC is evaluating whether to shorten its 10-day isolation guideline for fully vaccinated or boosted individuals. Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of the Brown University of School of Public Health, told Newsmax Monday that the guidelines should be adjusted.

Leftist gov finally relented to move out from their bunker mindset.

So if numbers are down and ready to open up, we ask Prof "Thick Skin" to come on for interview. When things become uncertain, CNA call Prof "Agar Agar". If things turn for the worse, CNA calls Prof "I Don't Know". Gahman don't need to mandate, just take away your freedom and if that don't work, take away your rice bowl. There is no carrot, just stick and bigger stick approach … that's the Genius of our Million dollar ministers. Sure focus on 3% of the work force and put arbitrary blame on the unvaxed. While 97% of the work force work for grass and end up eating it. This is happening likely because Gahman can't do anything to turn the economy around, hence the focus on blame vs investment in positivity and growth. All I see in the Gahman strategy is the stick, there is virtually no carrot. There will come a point, Singaporeans will see the obvious on what's lacking.

Whether there is Covid19 or no Covid19, that is not inevitable.
Whether there is Delta or no Delta, that is not inevitable.
Whether there is Omicron or no Omicron, that is not inevitable.

What is inevitable is, voting the wrong kind of people as government, employing the wrong kind of people as Doctors or Health officials in MOH department, the citizens will suffer.

That is Karma, that is inevitable.

Life is already hard since the start of the pandemic and now with more mandates/ restrictions; life is even harder. 'Expert' had said that when a person is vaccinated/ boosted they are very well protected but it seems that with new mandates enforced it only makes more people confused. The government and 'experts' may worry that those unvaccinated may put themselves at risk but there are those immunocompromised/ underlying health conditions whom are most at risk. So it we'll be more sensible to concentrate more on that area than to restrict the movements of those unvaccinated! Common sense overcome all obstacles!!!

Singapore has a very hardworking team consulting all the experts in the world before they make a decision. Thank you so much to the team who balance the covid management with economy. There are many rich people in Singapore who can survive a hard lockdown, but people like me need to work in order to survive. Thanks to the forward thinking leaders, we are surviving this crisis. Many countries are now following Singapore's lead to manage this as an endemic.

Vaccination is NOT key, only the vulnerable 0.2% of people need to consider it. In 2020 we had 29 deaths against the most deadly original strain of covid, and we had phase 2 and 3 for a very long time. In the past 3 month we had over 700 deaths with 96% vaccination rates and a weak delta variant…

The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) is breaking its own rule that states pilots should not fly after having taken medications that have been approved for less than a year, according to a group of attorneys, doctors, and other experts; including a pilot who says his career ended due to adverse reactions from a vaccine.

The group of attorneys and doctors wrote a letter directed at the FAA, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Justice, as well as several airlines, demanding that they medically flag all vaccinated pilots and have them re-examined for blood clotting problems as well as their cardiac health.

Sounds like Spore government also in violation of FAA Rules🤣🤣

Tackling Covid-19 variants should be a multi-pronged strategy. First, prevention of the variants from entering Singapore by beefing up the border control. Second, isolate them when detected and warn the public to take proper precaution to avoid been infected. Third, to provide adequate medicine to help those infected to recover speedily before others are infected by them. The MTF team formed to date is lacking the capability for a total control of the cases and should be enhanced for a more concerted effort to pre-empt and/or minimize the spread of Omicron and other variants before they spread to Singapore from outside Singapore. The team's actions should more proactive rater than reactive. A 100% vaccination of the entire population is insufficient by itself to protect the citizens. The Team should think of something else instead of implementing measures to ensure that everyone is vaccinated.

Where is the evidence after a year of Delta , that children should be vaccinated…?? None has every be presented….
I don't take his word for it, because there are NO clinical studies to prove that it does…
What is a larger proportion of children suffer side-effects from taking the vaccine, then the rare case of a child getting Omicron at this stage ??
I suggest that children should NOT be vaccinated because of Omicron, because Omicron so far (in millions of people), have not shown any adverse effects in children…
Sorry, but it just sounds like scared politicians and Big Pharma pushing alternate agendas…
Cite me a national study that proves me wrong…

I understand that both ART and PCR can be manipulated to give false results.

PCR classically uses around 28 cycles in a run, to increase sensitivity of the detection. But if one runs significantly more or less cycles, one may obtain false positive or false negative respectively.

Alternatively, PCR cycle thresholds (CT) are used as another non-objective way of reporting +ve or -ve results.

This may account for the discrepancy in the infamous case of elderly man on royal Caribbean cruise early this year, who tested PCR +ve on the ship, but PCR -ve by MOH.

Thus, the number of C cases the G wishes the report can be manipulated as such.

I don't have to even talk about how 'wonderfully accurate' ART test is, as some common household items has been known to give false positives too

I’m going to say this here, and continue to say this again:
Stop limiting the spread of omnicron variant. Omnicron has 30,000 mutations and thus is much more contagious compared to other dominant variants like delta. However, because of this high number of mutations, the omnicron genome is unstable and hence it is less deadly. It will NOT cause any more strain on our ICU compared to delta, it will NOT directly cause any deaths, and there is a difference between people dying with omnicron and people dying from omnicron. If they die from heart Attack while having omnicron, it is not counted and dying from omnicron ok.
If you continue to limit the spread of the mild contagious variant omnicron, you are delaying the inevitable, plus herd immunity can be better achieved simply cuz more people will survive and thus build natural immunity against weaker omnicron, better than any amount of boosters can solve. Therefore, the only way out is to return life to normal as soon as possible, not to impose more lockdowns and mandates anymore. Please listen and understand.

It is humbug to effectively say to workers not fully jabbed with unproven experimental-drugs:

"I care for you so much that I support the recent move which would result in you losing your right to work, and to leave you and/or your family with no income. I wish you a very happy new year ahead as you deal, alone and without any support, with the anxieties, fear and depression arising from being forcefully left jobless”.

"But we expect you to continue to pay your income taxes due, even though you are excluded from public amenities like public libraries. Your tax money will also still be used to subsidize those fully jabbed in ICU"
