The Guardian Randeep Ramesh in Delhi Mon 23 Feb 2009 12.52 EST: "India has endorsed an ambitious £1.7bn plan to launch its first astronauts into space by 2015, a move seen by many as an attempt to catch up with its bigger neighbour, China, in an emerging Asian space race."

India space program is stuck due to the failure of Chandrayaan 2 (crashed into pieces on the moon), so everything is waiting, first ISRO wants to finish soft landing on moon, that is Chandrayaan 3, only after success of Chandrayaan 3, then to get into manned space program, the problem is nobody can guarantee the success of Chandrayaan 3. and for manned space program, it is the most dangerous one, since that will have real human life in it. the weight of India 's spaceship is only 3.7 tons due to the limitation of the payload capability of the biggest space rocket they have GSLV MK III, it is even less than the first human space ship by Soviet Union (4.7 tons) and original plan for it is India even want to put 3 men into it, but seems now they changed plan to have only 1 man in it.

All I want is understanding between people.[…]Humans must learn to apply their intelligence correctly and evolve beyond their current state. Can’t afford to go. But d day they need something as simple as a janitor I’m asking to be considered. 😜Can you imagine being out in space n looking back at earth. I would not care what kind of job I got. Just so long as I got to be out there.! But yea that’s d only way we poor fantasize to get out there. Hope this space industry continues to grow. Maybe it can even unify us to quit going to war with each other over resources. Getting off this rock with as much diverse human seed n taking our place in d stars n heavens should be on every nations agenda. So yea keep growing this industry! I want a job out in space! 😜 earth jobs sound so suck now!
