A major volcanic eruption on the Spanish island of La Palma that began in September has finally ended after destroying about 3,000 buildings. CBSN’s Debra Alfarone has details.

    The peak is cracked and will likely breakaway at some point in the next couple of years. Some of the lava flows have hardened on top but still have molten rock under the surface. Although seismic activity isn't showing, the people around Cumbre Veija are still not out of the woods. Hopefully the families who have lost everything will pull through and the agricultural area of the island return to be fruitful soon.
