Synopsis

IT services companies are trying out multiple models to ensure ‘longevity’ of employees. These include more sops, opening centres in tier-II cities, nearshoring, accelerated promotions, and increased fresher hiring. However, employees see merit in moving on for better remuneration rather than being motivated by sops to keep continuing.

When attrition takes crisis proportions and companies can’t do much to retain employees, it is perhaps time to start looking at merits in employee churn.“It’s good, clearly the industry is growing,” says Sangeeta Gupta, senior vice-president and chief strategy officer, Nasscom.
