Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia reported record high COVID-19 case counts on Christmas Eve as Nunavut ordered a full lockdown to prevent further spread of the virus.

Health officials across the country are warning that the latest numbers are an underestimation and a sign of what is yet to come, and are again urging people to rethink large gatherings over the holidays.

Sophie Lui reports on how Canadians are adapting.

This is All overblown, covid Omicron is hear but people are vaccinated? Evidence that this omicron is mild, Trudeau just had a very good time dinning out with many people on his table and all no-one wearing a masks. I guess this government turned into a Covid-Nazi Regime. Stop watching the media for a long time and my prospective on this situation is getting clearer and clearer . NEWS! THE EMPEROR IS WEARING NO CLOTHES. And…we all got together and had a wonderful holiday….nothing changed…we refused too.

I’m double vaccinated and I’ve just had my booster I’m from England so do I have to take a test in the airport that I arrive at? Seeing as I’m already paying £100 for a test 2 days before my flight? honestly covid can lick my elbow!

Lel, nobody worry. As long as you follow rules, you're safe. Use sanitation often if you have to go out. The virus will hopefully take care of the idiots… I'm talking about everyone in the comments.

What a bunch of nonsense. Omicron is the mildest form of Covid since it’s inception and it’s symptoms are in line with the common cold. Who in their right mind is hiding from this nonsense?

Why are these idiots still testing, stop testing already and dragging this angry flu on and on. It just gives government's an excuse to waste more money.

The only reason numbers are high is because of the MAD surge for testing! There are no more cases than there were 3 months ago it's the fact that people who normally would not get tested are getting tested to go to their Christmas gatherings nothing has changed NOTHING!

Who's going to stop you from getting together with family and friends at Christmas? If you're fully vaccinated what are you worried about anyways? It's inevitable everybody is going to eventually get infected with covid. We're not going to wake up one morning and magically have zero cases.

This dumb govt made people wait six months from the 2nd dose before getting the 3rd dose, but are now rushing people through the cold winter season to get their boosters, when they could have offered it to them earlier in the Fall, in addition to sending people on a scavenger hunt for rapid test kits. Has this govt learned anything in the last two years?

Ivermectin allowed in Japan. Cases way down. Latest: Japan places myocarditis warning on 'vaccines'!!! Hallelujah for transparency and protecting ones people! Where the you make profit when the people are healthy and so the incentive is to keep people healthy! Unlike some other countries who make billion off of the sick…what you think they want to keep you healthy when the opposite for them is true! Big pharma are starting to be pursued and sued.
